Hacienda Las Nubes

Hacienda las Nubes, the Farm in the Clouds, is a small coffee farm in the mountains of Puerto Rico. Located at a sufficient altitude so that low lying clouds come and perch, engulfing the house and farm in a delightful cool mist.

Due to the unique conditions at Hacienda Las Nubes, the coffee produced is full of body with bright acidity and a clean finish There are sweet, brights notes of cherry and citrus. The bean is classified as buish-green in color and it exhibits a medium acidity and body that give it the complexity and balance of a specialty coffee.

The unique environment of Hacienda Las Nubes also made it a challenge to dry and process coffee. Don Cardona applied his engineering skills and came up with unique approaches to both the drying process and the depulping process.

Producing the highest quality coffee has become an obsession with Don Cardona and considering the coffee product that results, it is a delightful obsession.
